Weather Changes Weekend Baseball Schedule For UWM
March 7, 2008
MILWAUKEE - The baseball game the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee was scheduled to play against Centenary College tonight has been postponed, UWM head coach Scott Doffek announced this morning. Due to the rare occurrence of snow and cold temperatures in Shreveport, La., the schedule for the four game series this weekend has been rearranged. The area has been receiving snow since yesterday and temperatures Friday are in the low-30's, with wind chills in the mid-20's. The forecast for the rest of the weekend calls for sunny skies and a high of 55 degrees Saturday and 66 degrees Sunday. The two teams will now play their regularly scheduled doubleheader Saturday at noon. The Panthers and Gents will then play a doubleheader Sunday as well. Those two games will both be seven-inning affairs, with game one set for a first pitch of 11 a.m.
