Schleis Leads Panthers At Last Chance Qualifiers
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 17, 2008) - Junior Adam Schleis won the 110m hurdles at the Cardinal Twilight to pace the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's and women's track and field teams in action at a pair of last chance qualifiers for the NCAA Regionals, May 30-31. Milwaukee also sent two athletes to the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta. Schleis won the event just off his school-record time he ran last weekend at the league championships. He crossed the line in 14.42 to pace the field. Junior Patrick Casey and sophomore Quinn Mongoven also competed in Louisville, taking fourth in each of their respective events. Casey competed in the 400m hurdles, finishing in 55.03. Meanwhile, Mongoven had a final height of 6-8 3/4 in the high jump. At the Georgia Tech Invitational, sophomore Tyler Bucholz competed in the 200m and sophomore Laura Ring ran in the 800m. Bucholz finished 17th in 21.55, while Ring was 27th in 2:13.11.
