Panthers Wrap Up Season At Great Lakes Regional

Pitt paces Milwaukee in final meet of the season

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Nov. 10, 2007) - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's cross country team ended its season by taking 26th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Saturday.

Milwaukee competed just five runners and scored 792 points for 26th in the 30-team field. Wisconsin and Michigan tied for first at the meet with 68 points apiece while Notre Dame was a close third with 76.

Sophomore Eric Pitt led the way, taking 137th with a time of 34:19.86 on the 10,000m course. Sophomore Mike Sorenson was just eight seconds back in 146th with a time of 34:27.96.

Freshman Andrew Fox was the third Panther finisher, taking 158th in 34:48.67. Sophomores Jason Axt and Matt Dreifke rounded out UWM's competitors. Axt was 169th in 35:10.56 and Drefke crossed the line in 35:59.52 for 187th.
