Edwards Named To Horizon League All-Tournament Team

Panther averaged 25.5 points, eight rebounds in tourney

GREEN BAY, Wis. (March 16, 2008) - Junior Traci Edwards of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team has been named to the Horizon League All-Tournament team following the completion of the league championship game this afternoon.

Edwards was the only player named to the team that was not involved in the championship game. Cleveland State defeated Wright State for the tournament crown, 70-56, and now advances to its first NCAA Tournament.

CSU's Kailey Klein was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player and was joined on the team by teammates Domanique Butler and Brittany Korth. WSU's Sheylani Peddy rounded out the squad.

Edwards earned the honor for the third-straight season, averaging 25.5 points and eight rebounds in two games to lead the Panthers to the semifinals. She scored 26 points and had 11 rebounds in Milwaukee's quarterfinal win over Valparaiso Wednesday. She followed that up with 25 points and a perfect 11-for-11 effort from the free throw line in a two-point loss to Wright State in the semifinals Saturday.

Edwards was the tournament's MVP as a freshman in 2006.
