Voting For Greatest Team In School History Now Underway7/7/2008 - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team's celebration of its 25th year continues this week with the start of voting for the Greatest Team in school history. Voting is open through the remainder of the month of July. The celebration got underway in June, as alumni, fans and supporters were encouraged to vote for the 25th Anniversary Starting 11 throughout the month. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team will celebrate 25 years of soccer throughout the 2008 season, head coach Michael Moynihan announced today. Milwaukee's women's soccer program achieved varsity status in 1984 and this season will mark its 25th season of competition. The program will have a handful of events and promotions to celebrate the season, including selecting the 25th Anniversary Starting 11, greatest team in school history and the greatest game. Three teams from the Big Ten and three teams that qualified for the 2007 NCAA Tournament highlight the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team's 2008 schedule, head coach Michael Moynihan released today. The Panthers will open the season against Big Ten foes Wisconsin and Ohio State, while also playing Northwestern Sept. 24.
