         <description><![CDATA[Junior Holly Nearman of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's track and field team has been named the Horizon League Female Outdoor Athlete of the Year, the league office announced today. Nearman is the second Panther in three seasons to earn the honor, following Tenia Fisher in 2006. Nearman capped her junior season at the NCAA Mideast Regional, where she broke the school record in the 5000m, taking eighth in 16:46.88.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[Senior Shannon Buttchen and junior Holly Nearman of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's track and field team have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Teams, it was announced today.Buttchen was named to the first team and is now eligible for Academic All-America voting. Meanwhile, Nearman was selected for the second team. This is the second-straight year Milwaukee has boasted an academic all-district honoree, which is voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Junior Jenni Saarinen earned the honor last season.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's and women's track and field teams send seven athletes to the NCAA Regionals this weekend, hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Representing the men will be senior Darren Cole in the triple jump, sophomore Quinn Mongoven in the high jump and the 4x100m relay. The relay consist of senior Lynn Koepke, junior Adam Schleis and sophomores Tyler Bucholz and Isaiah Adams. Bucholz will also compete in the 200m and Schleis in the 110m hurdles. On the women's side, senior Holly Nearman will run in the 5000m, while sophomore Laura Ring will compete in the 800m.]]></description>
